The largest spending disparity in the country
There’s been a lot of talk about the amount of Super PAC money that just got dropped in Texas. It’s staggering to see just how badly billionaires and corporate mega-donors want to defeat our movement. It’s worth a whole heck of a lot to them.
So I wanted to take a moment to put those numbers in perspective and explain what’s going on.
This month, national Republicans put their spending into overdrive in the Texas Senate race. It started with Ted Cruz’s Super PAC and Ken Paxton’s Super PAC and dark money group. In the first two weeks of September, they spent about $21 million.
Then things started to change quickly. President Trump’s MAGA Inc. Super PAC came in a few days into September and added $10 million of its own.
And then last Friday, Senate Republicans’ Senate Leadership Fund announced they’d spend at least $54 million themselves…just in the month of September. That expenditure is the single-largest outside expenditure in any 2026 race in the entire country.
Axios reported that afternoon how that spending stacked up compared to the rest of the Senate map. Take a look at their chart:

And then the spending kept rolling in. This chart actually underreports this month’s Super PAC spending for Ken Paxton by about $30 million.
As of this morning, the outside spending behind Ken Paxton is up to $94 million for the month. There’s no greater spending discrepancy in the entire country.
But I refuse to let them buy this seat, and the good news is that we don’t have to match them dollar for dollar. Advertising rules mean we get better rates, so a dollar for our campaign is worth significantly more than a super PAC’s dollar.
I intend to win this race. I know we can, but it will require more resources than we’ve currently raised. So if you are fired up to take back Texas and put an end to billionaires buying elections, I hope you will consider making a contribution to our campaign today.
Thank you for your support. We’ve got an FEC deadline coming up at the end of this month, and it’s our chance to prove that this movement has what it takes to go toe to toe with right-wing super PACs and their billionaire backers.
