On biblical grounds

I am tired of politicians corrupting my religion to protect their own power — and the profits of their billionaire and corporate mega-donors.

2000 years ago, when the powerful few rigged the system, a barefoot rabbi walked into the seat of power and flipped over the tables of injustice.

When Jesus healed the sick, he didn’t ask for a deductible. So when I fight for universal healthcare, I’m doing it on biblical grounds.

When he fed the hungry, he didn’t price gouge to turn a profit. So when I say that no child should go to bed hungry, I’m doing it on biblical grounds

When the Hebrew prophets saw corruption, they spoke truth to power. So when I take on this corrupt system and the politicians that serve only themselves, I’m doing it on biblical grounds.

The fact that I am not afraid to speak truth to power — to call out those at the top — is why the target on us is so large. I know it invites attacks from those who feel our movement is a threat to their power.

It’s why Dan Patrick, the Lt. Governor of Texas, said I am “going to hell.”

It’s why Pete Hegseth’s pastor said he prayed for my death and that I would be stopped “by any means necessary.”

They are going to throw whatever they can at me. Billionaire-funded super PACs are putting upwards of $150 million behind these kinds of ludicrous attacks.

But it will not change my resolve. We have a moral imperative to win and keep the most corrupt politician in Texas out of the U.S. Senate — so we can take power back for the many, not just a few.

P.S. if you want to support our efforts to defeat Ken Paxton and bring new leadership to Washington, I hope you will consider making a contribution before tonight’s official FEC deadline. Every dollar will be immediately put to work to take back Texas for the people.
