Test

This isn’t a pop quiz, and sorry to any of my former students I scared with that subject line.

But we do have a test in front of us.

Our movement is facing the pre-general election Federal Election Commission deadline on October 14 — the final FEC deadline of the campaign.

I get that you hear a lot about these FEC deadlines — a fair amount of that probably from my own campaign (sorry!). And this one is on a weird day — not long after our last one, so I understand if you’re a bit skeptical.

Before I ran for U.S. Senate, I thought the hype around these deadlines was a bit hyperbolic. But the reality is they have a tremendous impact.

After the deadline, we are legally required to share our fundraising numbers publicly — not just how much we raise but exactly who’s funding this campaign. So it will set the tone for the final three weeks.

Our goal is to make clear that, even without a dime of corporate PAC money, our movement has the resources to win because folks like you are chipping in.

A strong report proves Texas will not be for sale — that billionaires and corporate mega-donors cannot ignore our collective power.

A strong report — that proves that the people can defeat the billionaires — inspires more people to get involved right before early voting starts.

Any signs of weakness…and we dramatically undercut our momentum at the worst time. Super PACs and billionaires could succeed in making people feel hopeless and drowning out our message with dark money.

We are so close, and victory is within reach. But we have to keep our foot on the gas.

So I am humbly asking you to make a contribution to our campaign today. I would not ask if your support wasn’t critical.

Thank you in advance. Grassroots donations are the only chance we have to compete with the super PACs trying to buy Texas.
