I hate asking
I would say asking for money is my least favorite part of running for office. But that’s not even the full truth. I flat-out hate it.
If there were a way to win a U.S. Senate seat without ever asking people to donate, I would do it.
I honestly wish the record-breaking money we raised already would be enough. But billionaires and corporate mega-donors believe Texas is for sale. As you read this, outside groups are spending over $200 million to drown us out and install Ken Paxton in the U.S. Senate. The New York Times’ latest reporting suggested that at least $158 million of that came from Elon Musk personally.
This is projected to be the most expensive race of 2026. So if taking back Texas is worth a few bucks to you, please make a contribution to our campaign before tonight’s FEC deadline. It all adds up.
Those who broke our democracy did it by spending obscene sums to rig the system for themselves. Billionaires and corporate mega-donors buy elections and politicians because they know their investments will lead to even greater profits.
For too long, politicians have fallen in line with this playbook because it’s easy. We’re told this is just how things work in Washington. We’re told to settle for the status quo.
It’s not true. Those at the top know that the people, united behind a common cause, are the greatest threat to their power. That’s why they’re scared of what we’re building.
Our movement has defied expectations and put the billionaire class and their puppet politicians on notice. They are panicking because they know that flipping Texas would be a political earthquake that fundamentally challenges the corrupt status quo.
So I hate to ask you for money, truly, but I am going to because I know that taking back Texas and transforming our politics is worth it:
This is the last time we’ll publicly report our fundraising numbers — good or bad.
Now is the moment to leave it all on the field.
Let’s go.
