Voter suppression

In this campaign, we are not only taking on Ken Paxton, Donald Trump, Elon Musk, the national Republican Party, and super PACs that are spending an obscene amount of money to defeat us...

We are taking on some of the worst laws in the country designed to make it harder for Texans to vote.

If you understand the challenges that creates, I am personally asking you to consider making a contribution to support our voter protection and organizing efforts.

Tomorrow is the first day of early voting, and as it kicks off, news continues to trickle out about errors and glitches in voter registration systems. Hundreds of thousands of registrations that we know of encountered an error in processing.

In addition, 1.2 million Texas voters find themselves on a “suspense list” that seems designed to cause uncertainty and alarm.

Republican politicians in Texas have passed legislation that makes it harder to register than it needs to be.

Why is it that they reduce early voting hours, set early deadlines to register, and make it harder to vote by mail?

Texas has the second-lowest voter turnout rate in the country. That is by design.

Voting is how we shape our destinies.

Voting is the first step in funding our schools.

Voting is the first step in improving our healthcare.

Voting is the first step in cleaning our air and our water.

The goal of voter suppression is to trip us before we take the first step.

Our goal has to be to out-organize the efforts to suppress the vote.

But that takes resources. It will take resources to ensure every eligible Texan has their vote counted. That is why I am asking for your support today — to directly fund our legal and voter protection teams as voting begins in this race.

Can you please make a contribution to our campaign today to take back Texas for the people? We will put your donation to work immediately to overcome voter suppression in Texas.
